They are all ALIVE Smile No thanks to the Gestapo who left them to die in horrific conditions Evil or Very Mad Vicki Fowler after trying and failing to get rspca to rescue Hope she bought Her for £1800 as she couldn't leave her to die Sad she was hours from death lying face down in a freezing ditch Shocked no water/food or grazing and all the horses up to their hocks in mud but according to rspca there was nothing amiss with these conditions and they left them there No they do not like to confront landowner's as these are the idiots who suppot them Twisted Evil that's their excuse for not acting in the animal's favour anyway Rolling Eyes
Vicki got Hope out and saved her life Smile she is now a real beauty and has won prizes Smile she is half shire so a BIG girl Smile the other's were taken to arescue centre then Hillside animal sanctuary took them on Smile they are now safe and will stay with Hillside Smile
This landowner had been reported before for his cruelty toward's another filly Fudge who he was persueded to give to another family Surprised she as in such a bad way that even after extensive treatment she died Sad
rspca flatly refused to do anything about the suffering of these horses Evil or Very Mad all shire crosses so BIG but as usual turned up when press arrived (summoned by Vicki) and have now been rewarded for their non action by being awarded £86000 in costs Shocked who say;s crime doesn't pay Evil or Very Mad Rolling Eyes

I would like to know how many of these horses and ponies are still alive - do we know?. £86k sounds about right by RSPCA reckoning. This is what they do, they encourage the vets they use to knock up a startlingly high bill then kill the animal once they et it in show condition!! It's tragic really. How many horses were there? At least they had a vet (Vicki) to deal with who probably knows from experience what the Arsepca are like and knew how to deal with them! Evil or Very Mad .

Hopes Cause! Empty Hopes cause - update

Post  moonstone Sat Oct 27, 2012 10:00 am

The landowner who caused so much suffering to his horses was finally prosecuted Very Happy he was found guilty and fined over £86000 Surprised costs to be paid to our dear friend's rspca who took such good care of all the stricken horses NOT!!! they refused to do anything until newly quilified vet Vicki Fowler got the press involved Smile then they were there in a flash removing the horses Evil or Very Mad their inspector had deemed the living conditions of the horses as "adequate" and left them all to their fate No thank god that Vicki had the good sense to get the press down to witness what was going on or there would ahve been many deaths Sad
Tom123 if you can google Hope's cause and read through the thread it will give you some idea of how evil rspca really are No they took your horses yet thet were prepared to turn their backs on these ones who were suffering Rolling Eyes BLOODY HYPOCRITIES!!!

Hopes Cause! Empty Hopes Cause (update)

Post  moonstone Sat Feb 11, 2012 3:55 pm

I am very pleased to say that the remaining ten horses who were with Hope have now been seized by Police on the advice of two indepentant vets (not RSPCA) and have been taken in by Hillside Animal Sanctuary Smile they are based in Norfolk Smile The owner is now going to be prosecuted Very Happy Hillside have this week taken in 30 unwanted shetland ponies who had been used (and abused) for breeding but the owner wanted rid of them Evil or Very Mad the 28 pregnant mares plus two stallions have been given a permanent home there as they are used to being in a family group Smile
So well done to Hillside and if anyone wants to support/donate to a worthy cause then look no further Smile

Any update on these horses recently? I'm a bit worried that the RSPCA will run up big bills from some greedy vet, take some "before and after" pictures then shoot them all which is what they are prone to do. They publicise the pictures but not the fact that they shoot them. javascript:emoticonp('Cool')

Happy Xmas Moonstone, hope these horses are OK at Xmas too. Am taking in two abandoned cats for Xmas, caring owners went away and left them to freeze, two more on my list but they so sound sweet I ca't leave them to freeze.

No not yet No he will probably be let of with a caution Evil or Very Mad the horses have been removed to an unknown destination so the people invovled with this case are not aware of where they are or what their fate will be Sad but ta least (hopefully) they will be fed/warm/dry and get some love and care Smile
The BIG question is.....would the clown's clown have done anything without the prodding by Vikki Fowler and Facebook Question
A BIG FAT NO Rolling Eyes
If this lovely lady hadn't put pressure on them the horses would still be suffering and a big THANK YOU to the Daily Mail for publishing this sorry tale Smile
I really do hope that their donations are down by a LARGE amount over this case as that was all they were worried about Twisted Evil
BLOODY WICKED HYPOCRITES Evil or Very Mad
Why don't they go mug an elderly pensioner of her cat/dog that's what they usually do lol!

I don't understand why World Horse Welfare were not involved, they are the (supposedly) leading equine charity in the country. No matter, at least they've got help before the really bad weather kills them all. Let's see tho what sort of sentence the owner gets, if in fact the RSPCA prosecute him. Some vile bitch microwaved a kitten, a few days jail and only a THREE year animal deprivation order. Like the policeman who let his dogs die in the back of his car; THREE years. It should be life if they have caused the death of an animal thro neglect or cruelty. I hope she gets microwaved in jail. Evil or Very Mad Do we know if the owner is being prosecuted? Rolling Eyes

May I ask what World Horse Welfare (used to be called International League For Protection Of Horses) headquarters: Anne Colvin House, Snetterton, Norwich, Norfolk NR16 2LR Phone 01953 498682. They are best mates with RSPCA, hand in glove so to speak. I have seen them come out to a horse that was a bit lame, so where are they now?
YES the problem is that landowners, even if they don't actually have money (chances are they do have) are in a position to get their hands on cash. And the RSPCA don't want to be up against a (possibly)rich defendant, they want someone they can beat, someone who cannot afford to fight them thro the courts.Let's not forget the RSPCA spends £7 million every yeaar on private prosecutions, law firms get rich from their cases. They want quiet little people with their cats/dogs/rabbits who will just plead guilty, give a press release and see the cash rolling in when they dupe the public into believing what good work they do. They take people to court for far less than this, why not this one?? MONEY!!! Evil or Very Mad If horses were unable to stand, the owner should be prosecuted. Why are they hesitating? I've said before and will say again, they pick the easy victims. Maybe this is a rich absentee landowner sunning him-or herself in the West Indies??

    Hopes Cause! Empty Hopes cause...Update!

Post  moonstone Wed Dec 14, 2011 7:04 am

Vikki Fowler the vet who saved Hope and now owns her has been asked by RSPCA to do a "damage limitation" exercise for them as they are worried that they will lose donations now this story has been in the newpapers (Daily Mail) she has agreed if they will prosecute the owner of the horses BUT they say that they do not think that they can get a conviction Evil or Very Mad
So if you are a wealthy landowner (probably have RSPCA in your pocket with a large donation) you can get away with blatant cruelty towards animals in your care BUT if you are just a member of Joe Public they can seize your pets and charge you with cruelty No get lots of publicity and no doubt donations on the back of this Shocked obviously one law for us and one for them Evil or Very Mad

    Hopes Cause! Empty Hopes Cause!

For those of you who have a facebook account then do support Hopes Cause Smile this is the very sad tale of a 2-yr old shire filly who along with 17 other horses have been left in horrific conditions Sad Hope was found by a lovely girl called Vikki who tried to get RSPCA to rescue her and the other horses (Hope was found lying flat out and near death in a muddy bog of a field)RSPCA took a quick look Rolling Eyes decided they were OK and left Evil or Very Mad Vikki (a newly qualified vet) eventually bought Hope from her neglectful owner and managed to save her life after her and friend's sat up all night with her Smile
She is now trying to save the remaining horses from death too Sad
So far RSPCA have not been very helpful (no change there then)
WHY? have they done nothing when these animals are suffering? is it because they belong to a landowner Question
Would they have turned a blind eye to such blatant cruelty if it had been a pet owner Question I think NOT Evil or Very Mad obviously this owner is not going to be a "soft touch" as we ordinary folk are No
So they can force their way into my home and forcibly remove my pet's but when it comes to a landowner they will back off Evil or Very Mad one law for the rich perhaps Question Evil or Very Mad
SHAME ON THEM FOR NOT RESCUING THESE POOR HORSES Evil or Very Mad
If you can add your support to Hopes Cause then please do as the more people they get the less RSPCA will be able to ignore their sad plight Sad
